Children in need in Ecuador
Help children, raise funds for children, donations from various organizations and institutions, …?!?
The Internet, newspapers and the press are really crowded. Sometimes you do not really know what you donate and what happens with money or donation.
Because of the living and learning of the situation of children in need in Ecuador was thought about help, which directly arrives. For this reason, the project “WAFI helps” was launched.
A donation for Ecuadorian children
As diverse as Ecuador is itself, the population is also mixed. The “middle class” in Germany is hardly known, and children living in poor conditions receive little or no support from the government. Social security or help is simply misrepresentation.
The uncle of Stefy has been going to the Amazon for many years and helps the children with the necessary things on site. These include clothing, shoes, school supplies, hygiene articles and much more. Things, which one considers as self-evident and necessary, are unfortunately not present.
Therefore it is a help for children, which directly arrives …
First donation of donations in February 2017
On the basis of the idea and engagement of Mrs. Kuhn, a first relief action was carried out.
The generous donation of 500 € of the missionary circle of the parish of the Holy Spirit in Selb enabled the acquisition of extensive school material and footwear for many children.
Purchases and Transport
After shoes and school supplies were bought as “packages” on February 11, 2017, the transport of the materials was on the agenda, which was not easily organized due to the distanceBuy the things in Ambato
- Bus trip from Ambato to Puyo
- River crossing (Río Pastaza) in a cable car
- Transport the things to the village of Agua Santa 1 and the area:
Reception in the village Agua Santa 1 and handing over the things
The arrival in the village of Agua Santa 1 has already become a very personal heart concern. The children were very open and to make this a joy, was the absolutely correct decision.
The hurried children warmly greet us immediately, and a hail of embraces bursts into us.
The ground is muddy in some places, but shoes are misrepresenting. The purchased rubber boots are not only good, but are sensible acquisitions.
The village school currently has 30 students. They are taught by a state teacher. There are a lot of other children scattered around the area who can not attend the school because of the distance. There is no means of transportation, and therefore the access to education is inaccessible.
The fact that “non-schoolchildren” have received a book from the government is almost a farce. Without reading too can be rather deterrent.
Other gifts for the colonies Otto 1 and Otto 2
Besides the kids in Agua Santa we surprise families with their little ones in the two colonies Otto 1 and 2. Again, the help is gladly accepted and we are invited openly and warmly for a return.
Once again, Ms. Kuhn trusts us and gives us 500 Euro from the missionary group of the parish Holy Spirit in Selb. We buy shoes, T-shirts and school supplies for the kids.
After shopping in the Quito Center, we wait until the next day to begin our journey. On September 28, 2017, with the support of Stefy’s uncle and other friends, we went to the canton of Pujilí in the province of Cotopaxi. We come to the municipality of Alpamalag de Ramos Pamba, a very quiet place with dry and windy weather. It is quite remarkable to see the needs of the community, show their streets and houses, as it is far from the city center little interest and the support of the community receives nevertheless, they feel very proud of their culture and is known for his indigenous dancers who wear characteristic clothes, play various musical instruments and dance to the sound of their music.
And then the best part of our journey was to see the children of different ages waiting with their faces of happiness and astonishment when they saw strangers in their area. We introduced ourselves, talked with them for a while, and waited for more children to finish their day at school.
Then we take shoes for every boy and every girl, we distribute T-shirts and school supplies. They were very happy and thankful. A thank you and a big smile were the best answer.
If you would like to participate in this donation project or have any questions concerning this project, please do not hesitate to contact us. One thing is certain:
